The Space
Pear Plum is a space where great music plays, the light is always right, and every detail has been chosen with care. The interiors will feature the signature outdoor inspired design of contemporary Brazilian design, bringing a California ease and natural warmth to a space that feels as comfortable for a solo morning coffee as it does for a family afternoon or an early date night.
The Coffee
Pear Plum takes specialty coffee seriously. We source with intention, prepare with precision, and serve every cup with the same care we bring to everything else in this space. Whether you are a daily espresso devotee, a pour-over enthusiast, or someone who just knows what a great cup of coffee tastes like, you will find your drink here made by people who love what they do and served in a space worth lingering in.
The Food
The Pear Plum menu is built around seasonal, farm-to-table ingredients with healthy, delicious options for every member of the family, including the little ones. Our kitchen is led by Lesa and Violette of The Handmade Chef Meal Prep Co., a beloved San Diego culinary duo who have worked with some of the city’s most respected restaurants, catering companies, and hospitality groups. The food is designed to complement the coffee in the morning, satisfy at lunch, and pair beautifully with wine as the day winds down.
The Wine
Pear Plum’s wine program is one of a kind in San Diego - built around a genuine lifetime passion for collecting and discovering wine and designed to be as welcoming to someone just beginning their wine journey as it is thrilling for a seasoned enthusiast. The wine program spans varietals from around the world - Bordeaux, Rioja, German Rieslings, Barolo, Burgundy, and the California wines our West Coast guests know and love, including selections from Napa, Sonoma, and Santa Barbara. Highlights include bottles from celebrated producers and regions, from California Burgundy and Champagne - including Kistler, DuMOL, Domaine William Fèvre, Laurent-Perrier, and Taittinger - to the great estates of Bordeaux and Spain with Léoville Barton, La Rioja Alta, and Muga.
Owners St. Elmo (a member of the esteemed Court of Master Sommeliers) and Christina Crawford will pour favorite bottles from their family’s 10,000 bottle personal collection. Pear Plum will also feature two exclusive house wines - Cuvée Gia and Cuvée Aliesa - created in partnership with Violin Wine in the Eola-Amity Hills of Oregon’s Willamette Valley and named for the Crawfords’ daughters. Wine education is woven into everything - through staff knowledge, approachable menu descriptions, and local sommelier events that make learning about wine feel like exactly what it should: fun, social, and memorable.
